Last Weekend with Daddy :(

This Sunday, Tyler left for school in Edmonton. He will be in school for two months and will hopefully come home every two weeks for a short weekend visit. It was very hard to see him leave and even harder knowing it was killing him to leave Abbi behind.

So, I guess I will get my try at being a single parent. However, I won't have to start until next week as Abbi is spending the week with her cousins in Lethbridge. It was difficult letting her go, but this week was so busy for me at work that I knew she would have a better time in Lethbridge then at home. It is pretty lonely all by myself in the house...this hasn't happened in over a year...strange feeling. I am looking forward to Abbi returning home on Friday until then I have a lot of school work to do and a presentation to plan out...busy, busy, busy.

We miss you Daddy!

Chocolate vs. Hard-Boiled

Happy Easter Everyone!

We had a great Easter! We spent Saturday with Tyler's side of the family and then Sunday with my side of the family. There was a lot of food and chocolate and it took us all day Monday to recover. Here are a few pics of Abbi dying eggs with her cousins.

So...I have a question to throw out there...what really does the Easter bunny bring?

Tyler's family "believes" that you color and decorate hard-boil eggs and then leave the eggs for the Easter bunny. The Easter bunny then hides the eggs and you find them in the morning. You get chocolate but it is in your Easter basket.

My side of the family "believes" that the Easter bunny hides chocolate eggs and treats and you find them in the morning. If you want to color and decorate hard-boiled eggs you can but we didn't leave them for the Easter bunny.

So...what do you think? I would think that it would be more exciting to hunt out chocolate rather than hard-boiled eggs. It is a highly debated topic right now in our family!

I thought I would post a pic of Abbi and her cousin Cooper (2 years old). It was so cute...

We took Abbi and Cooper to see some baby bunnies and chicks but Abbi was not very interested. Cooper loved it!

It was great having time off to spend as a family. Tyler lucked out and ended up having Thursday, Friday and the Monday off. We are trying to get things around the house done as Tyler will be leaving for two months starting April 21st. He is heading to Edmonton for schooling. I guess I will have my try at being a single mom.

Shopped till I dropped!

This week, thanks to Tyler and my mother-in-law, I was able to shop for two days straight with my sister-in-law Darli and no kids (except Keetly). We went to Calgary on Thursday morning and did not make back until late Friday night. Of course we found great deals and came home broke...but wasn't that the point? It was great to get away for some "me" time but two days was long enough away from Abbi.

Tyler did a pretty good job of "keeping house" with a one year old. Abbi's clothes did match when I came home...very surprised on my end.

I have posted a pic of Abbi and Elmo. The other day I heard a strange bark from Elmo and when I went to see what was going on I found Abbi cornering Elmo behind the couch. Elmo did not bite or snap (what a good dog) but was happy to have been rescued...I guess we will have to rework the living room.

Here is another pic of Abbi eating her favorite food...pizza.
